An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
